Celebrity Beach Weddings 2007
Celebrities are choosing beach weddings locations as an intimate - yet fun way to exchange their wedding vows.
Amber & Rob's Beach Wedding in the Bahamas
Last year on April 26,
Amber Brkich - Survivor's 1 million dollar winner and
Rob Mariano - they guy she fell head over heels for, will be married on a beach wedding in the Bahamas at Atlantis, Paradise Island. How appropriate - they met on a beach, had their first kiss on the beach and they were married on the beach.
Although the wedding planner - Colin Cowie - took a seaside wedding over the top with exquisite details, this young couple were smart enough to remember what is really important, Rob lobbied to include all their friends and control the food selections, while Amber looked stunning in a simple wedding dress designed by a family friend - proof that you can combine traditional with contemporary.
Accompanied by 8 bridesmaids, each wearing a beautiful shade of aqua, Amber walked bare foot down the beach at sunset where Rob was waiting under an arch covered in seashells and starfish.
The only draw back to a spectacular beach wedding was Ambers choice of head piece. A very long piece of fabric which looked amazing when she held it up to billow in the breeze, unfortunately it looked like toilet paper most of the ceremony. She should have removed it for the dinner and dancing, it really was an unwanted distraction.
Rob & Amber's beach wedding ideas worth remembering....
- Wedding arch encrusted with seashell, starfish and glass globes.
- Barefoot is better.
- A beach tends to be a windy location, long hair looks better off the face and pinned up.
- Test drive your headpiece before your wedding day.
- Fairy lights add ambience at dusk.
- Beach weddings at dusk will be cooler and the reception will be in the evening
Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney
Just goes to show - you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl. Dubbed "Hollywood Meets The Haystack" Renee Zellweger married Kenny Chesney on the beach on St. John, U.S. Virgin Island the 15-minute ceremony was attended by family and friends.
Renee looked stunning in a form fitting Carolina Herrera gown, one of her favorite designers; and the groom was barefoot. One of the shortest mariiages, but still a great choice in dresses!
